Hawaiʻi Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course (60 Hours – In-Person)

This 60-hour in-person Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course is conducted in accordance with the educational requirements prescribed by the Hawaiʻi Real Estate Commission (HREC), Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA).

The course provides instruction in real estate principles, practices, and Hawaiʻi real estate law necessary to qualify for licensure as a real estate salesperson. Instruction includes coverage of state-specific statutes, administrative rules, ethical obligations, and practical applications required for competent and compliant real estate practice in the State of Hawaiʻi. Successful completion of the course fulfills the pre-licensing education requirement to sit for the Hawaiʻi Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Examination administered by PSI.

COURSE CONTENT OUTLINE 

Course instruction includes, but is not limited to, the following subject areas as required by HREC:

Real estate license law and administrative rules

Duties, responsibilities, and conduct of licensees

Agency relationships and fiduciary duties

Contracts, listing agreements, buyer representation, and disclosures

Property ownership, land use controls, and environmental considerations

Transfer of title, deeds, and escrow procedures

Financing principles and lending practices

Valuation and appraisal principles

Real estate mathematics

Property management fundamentals

Fair housing laws and ethical practices

Hawaiʻi-specific real estate practices and regulatory compliance

 

Steps to Become a Hawaiʻi Real Estate Salesperson

Complete a 60-hour pre-licensing course

Pass the school’s final examinations

Apply for and pass the State and National licensing examinations through PSI

Submit licensing application and required documentation to the State of Hawaiʻi

Receive your Salesperson license and begin practice under a licensed broker
